Robert Oprea founded BGS in Eastern Europe in 1994 and built it into one of the largest security companies in the region. He now owns and runs BGS Security in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut where he stays close to the installation work rather than managing it from a distance.
Background
Robert Oprea started BGS in Eastern Europe more than thirty years ago. Under his direction it became one of the largest security companies in the region, working across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. What he established early on has not changed: strict safety standards, careful execution on every job, and long client relationships rather than fast sales. Those priorities carried over when the family relocated to the United States. He has stepped back from daily operations of the European business, which continues under its own management. His focus now is BGS Security in New Jersey, where he is directly involved in how systems are specified and installed. That involvement is deliberate — a security system is only as reliable as the decisions made during installation, and those decisions are not made in an office. Away from work, he spends his time outdoors and takes preparedness seriously, applying the same habit of planning for what can go wrong.
