Robert Oprea founded BGS in Eastern Europe in 1994 and built it into one of the largest security companies in the region. He now owns and runs BGS Security in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut where he stays close to the installation work rather than managing it from a distance.
Building Security on a Foundation of Trust
In 1994, I founded BGS SECURITY DIVISION Europe with just $75 in borrowed capital and a core conviction: when you prioritize protecting people properly, business success follows. That principle guided our growth from a lean startup into a 2,000-employee organization, built ground-up through lasting client relationships.
My operational philosophy has always been simple: every client, regardless of size, deserves absolute peace of mind. Whether protecting a single individual or a major enterprise, we deliver the same relentless attention to detail. If an issue arises, we resolve it immediately—no delays, no excuses. Perfect security doesn't exist, but continuous improvement is non-negotiable.
Bringing that experience to the U.S. market, my mission remains focused on raising the standard of protection. High-stakes security requires uncompromising quality.
